what do you feel about the power plays
« on: October 05, 2007, 07:30:25 AM »
Power plays - the rule bought in to kill the pacers. and heaven for the batsmen. but most batsmen not using the power lays properly. they feel that they should not loose their wicket early. or else it would be a good launch for scoring what do u feel. is it right to have the power plays.... :)

Well, everything needs some innovations after sometime or later.. introduction of powerplays are good. they brought new meaning to ODI cricket. Its good to have them, this will increase fun, entertainment in the match, people will be more attractive towards the game.

If T20 was introduced to make cricket more exciting, Powerplays were introduced to make T20 more exciting. All the batsman has to do is swing at the ball, make sure to connect and then run, unless of course the ball crosses the boundary line. It really makes the fielding captain think and the bowler has very little margin for error. In this season of the IPL everything from placing players at deep long on and deep mid wicket to having spinners bowl the first over has been tried to try and stem the flow of runs in the first 6 overs. But unfortunately, on an average, the most the fielding team can hope for is a couple of wickets cause the runs are bound to come.

yeah it is good to have, in T20 also we need powerplays like ODi. I mean batting power play and bowling power play options.
